The company

Cia Mar Gómez is a dance theatre company that mixes a personal choreographic language with some characteristic traits such as theatricality, narrative ability, poetical images, gesture, a strong physicality and above all, a great sense of humor.

The company was created in Barcelona in 1992 and since then it has been creating and performing worldwide for 30 years. The company’s indoor and outdoor shows have always provoked an extraordinary complicity with the audience. This has led to numerous and widespread national and, in recent years, international tours and also a well-known reputation of the company, that has become a reference of the Spanish contemporary dance scene. 

The company has performed its shows in some of the main international performing arts festivals especially in Europe and Latin America and in some occasions in Asia and Africa. Cia. Mar Gómez has performed in Sibiu Festival (Rumania), SIDance (South-Korea), Beijing Fringe Festival (China),  GDIF Greenwich and Docklands (London), Sztuka Ulicznicy (Poland), Arkhangelsk International Street Festival (Russia), Freiburg's Internationale  Kulturbörse (Germany), Festival Prisma (Panamá), Festival Danzaextremadura (México), Zacatecas Intarnational Street Theatre Festival (Mexico) to mention a few. In various occasions the company's shows have been coproduced and/or programmed by fairs and festivals in Spain, such as Fira de Tàrrega, Grec Festival and Festival Sismógraf.
