He graduates in classical dance at Barcelona’s Institut del Teatre (1991-1997). Studies an HBO at Koninklijk Conservatorun of Den Haag (1998). In 1999 after dancing with several Catalan contemporary dance companies (Avelina Argüelles, Danat Dansa, Trànsit, etc.) he enters Cia. Mar Gómez. Since then he has worked with the company as the choreographic director and performer in all the shows of the company doing hundreds of performances nationally and internationally. Simultaneously between 2002 and 2008 he collaborates regularly in various projects directed by the British artist Lindsey Kemp working as a performer, choreographer and/or director’s assistant in the staging of several operas in Spain and Italy and sharing stage with Lindsey Kemp himself in the director’s creations.
In terms of script writing, Xavier Martínez presents a dramatized reading of his first play “Gábia” (2012) at Sala Becket under the direction of Jordi Prat Coll.
